Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
This position is located within District III, Elko. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining permits, utilities, and railroad agreements; processing encroachment permits in accordance with Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) policies for both private and public entities; inspecting work authorized under encroachment permits for compliance with NDOT standards and specifications as well as approved permit plans; and recognizing and addressing all forms of trespass and safety issues within the NDOT right-of-way.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary & Benefits: APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY – $46,938.24 to $69,718.32 PAY GRADE: 35
