Description: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and ACE EPIC are looking to engage the next generation of conservation stewards. The program will raise awareness of our national parks and historic sites, their accessibility and the need for the community’s involvement in their preservation. By exposing interns to renewable and non-renewable land management careers and techniques within BLM, they will enhance employment options and career training opportunities.
This partnership addresses a fundamental component of ACE’s mission, and a critical need for recruitment and retention within the BLM. Through this program, ACE and BLM are looking to find the best talent from every background, providing the best chance at success for the partner and the intern. The target participants for the program are current college students or recent college graduates.
Not only will ACE look to traditionally under-served populations such as African, Hispanic, and Native Americans, but will also focus on women in an attempt to find the best group of qualified applicants.
This program seeks to partner with a variety of national universities and colleges that have healthy populations of diverse students to help usher candidates into careers as land stewards with BLM. The advanced and varied skill-sets represented in this program represent an ideal opportunity to train current or recently graduated students from all walks of life, and to provide on-the-ground experience required to launch careers in their fields.”
